The province of Almería offers a huge scenic and ecologic variety due to its geological past and its geographic and strategic location. The dryness that Almería holds in the public imagination is not entirely true. Almería has everything: snow, desert and sea, where it highlights its prominent 217 km of coast.

Within a radius of 60 km the natural landscapes suffer incredible changes. Snow in medium and high mountain ranges such as Filabres, Gádor or Sierra Nevada. Arid zones like Tabernas Desert or Karst in Yesos of Sorbas. The crystal clear water of the Alborán Sea that baths the coasts of its beautiful bay. The underwater magma that mould 63 kilometers of cliffs and beaches with a volcanic origin in Cabo de Gata. An extreme nature that makes Almería a unique province in biodiversity and full of endemisms. These landscapes are an infinite range of possibilities for the practice of hiking and ecotourism.

Its variety is also reflected in a large road network and paths. There are different kinds of paths: coastals, interiors, high mountain trails, even urban or semiurban. Places surrounded by unspoilt nature where you can enjoy with your group, doing ecotourism and hiking activities outdoors with your family. In this experience, the client has to move by their own means to the meeting point with the guide and start the hiking route. There is a possibility to manage, with an additional cost, a transport service so the guide can pick you up and leave you on your lodgings. In this case, the guide will drive you to the path’s starting point, interpreting the highland and the natural space where you are going to do the hiking activity in Almería.

We recommend the use of comfortable shoes to walk, as well as clothing appropriate to the weather and the time of the year. In this way, it is important to bring water or some hydrating drinks as well as sun protection and some snacks if you wish.
